World Issues

This page is a spin off from our Wednesday Night Uth Worship service. Here you will find world issues, student issues, organizations and mission opportunities that KFBC Uth supports. Our greatest hope & desire is that KFBC Uth students would follow in obedience as God may call them on mission to spread the gospel to the whole world through these ministries, mission or intern opportunities and career paths.

The Seed Company

"One billion people are still Bibleless."

Bible Translation. Life Transformation.

Matthew 24:14

"This good news of the Kingdom will be proclaimed in all the world as a testimony to all nations. And then the end will come."

Join us in praying for The Seed Company as they continue to work diligently to start a bible translation process in every language by 2025! Remember to be thankful for the Word of God in our world and the many different translations and bibles we all have in our homes in English.

Pray for Zero - KFBC Uth Heroes for Zero! Each Sunday morning LIFE group has partnered with a people group & language all over the world. KFBC Uth is praying for God to use Seed Company with other partners and begin Bible translation for 14 different people groups. Join us as we pray for zero!

Open Doors USA

"For over 60 years, Open Doors has worked in the world's most oppressive countries, empowering Christians who are persecuted for their beliefs. Open Doors equips persecuted Christians in more than 60 countries through programs like Bible & Gospel Development, Women & Children Advancement and Christian Community Restoration. Join us in praying for and serving the persecuted church around the world."

"The World Watch List matters. It matters because it is the most trusted measurement of religious persecution in the world today. But even more important, the list matters because it's a spiritual EKG showing the strength and vulnerability of the global Church - the body of Christ. It's easy to move through life disconnected from what happens to believers in other parts of the world. But this report helps us close the gap between us. The World Watch List helps us understand how to pray, to support, to empathize and to stand with persecuted Christians when they suffer - and rejoice with them when conditions improve." - David Curry President/ CEO Open Doors USA

KFBC Uth uses resources from Open Doors like the World Watch List to keep our students engaged with Christians all over the world.

One For Israel

As believers in Jesus Christ who trust the Bible as the Word of God we must pray for Israel, bless Israel and do what we can to bring the gospel to Israel.  ONE FOR ISRAEL is a ministry on the forefront of reaching Jews and Arabs in Israel for Jesus Christ. "So much suffering and persecution has been inflicted upon Jewish people in the name of Yeshua that his very name has become a stumbling block and offense, and now he is often considered one of the enemies of the Jewish people. [Jesus = Yeshua = Christ = Messiah] This is not well understood here in Israel, but slowly the lights are going on as more and more people understand that Jesus Christ is not a foreign personality of a pagan religion, but Yeshua, salvation is the Jewish Messiah from Nazareth in Israel, the one prophesied in the Hebrew Bible."

"In Israel, for every 100 persons there are 122 computers. In fact, Israel has the highest person-to-computer ratio in the world. According to comscore, Israel is the leading country in the world (alongside Canada) for hourly time spent online... TWICE the amount of the average American! Israel comes in first world wide in the amount of time spent on Facebook and YouTube. About 97.6% of all Israelis between 13 and 34 have an active Facebook account. Israelis spend 70% of their smartphone time not taking to family or friends, but surfing the internet. Taking all of that into consideration, ONE FOR ISRAEL believes that there is no greater way to share the Gospel of Yeshua the Messiah(Jesus Christ) in Israel than via the internet."

"In Israel, there are hundreds of communities and home fellowships of Messianic Jews. Through this series, we let them tell their own story – a story the rabbis have been trying to suppress for generations." Check out Jewish professionals who met their Messiah!

Samaritan's Purse International Relief

"Samaritan’s Purse is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Since 1970, Samaritan’s Purse has helped meet needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing God’s love through His Son, Jesus Christ. The organization serves the church worldwide to promote the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ."

International Justice Mission

"IJM is the largest international anti-slavery organization in the world.
We know where slaves are. You can help us rescue them."

There are over 40 million slaves today. That's more than ever before in human history.

Slavery is a multi-billion dollar industry. Human trafficking generates $150 billion annually.

Slave owners prey on the poor and weak. 1 in 4 victims of forced labor is a child.

Every person is a person with a name, a story and a dream. Together, we can send rescue and set them free.

Mankind, He has told you what is good
and what it is the Lord requires of you:
to act justly,
to love faithfulness,
and to walk humbly with your God.

Micah 6:8

Global & Local Missions

"Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age." Matthew 28:19-20

Here at Kingwood First Baptist Church, we are about LIFE, where the E means Engaging in Multiplying Disciples. KFBC Uth encourages our students to participate in Global & Local Missions following God's call on our lives to go and make disciples. Specifically our church has a partnership with Tapestry Church in Calgary, Canada. Our Uth Leadership Team goes each summer to volunteer at Summer Youth Celebration in Alberta Beach, partnering with many churches in the Calgary and Edmonton area for their students and youth leaders to enjoy a week at camp.

We also encourage our students to be apart of Local Missions like the Houston Food Bank, Mission Northeast, Star of Hope, local nursing homes and serving as part of the body of KFBC. It is important for our students to understand they are not too young to change the world. Students are encouraged to keep their eyes open to how they can serve others and also invite others to know Christ. Our desire is that each student is praying for someone in their life who needs to know Christ or needs a church body to grow with and will be invited to come and fill the empty chairs.

Music

Students consume 7.5 hours of music and media every day - that's more time than they spend in class! Music effects their mood, emotions, movement and behaviors, opinions and friendships.

KFBC Uth encourages our students to evaulate the kind of music and the lyrics they allow to fill their heads and hearts. Check out our Spotify playlists for all different genres of Christian music and Christian artists! Also check out the local FM Christian radio stations 89.3 KSBJ, 103.7 AIR1, or 91.7 NGEN!
